Okla Jones, III is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in entertainment, arts, and culture reporting. Currently serving as a Contributing Entertainment Editor at Essence Communications Inc. since March 2022, Okla contributes to daily content for ESSENCE.com, focusing on music, film, television, and popular culture. Additionally, as an Arts & Culture Reporter for Creative Loafing Atlanta, Okla covers the local art scene, producing breaking news articles and long features. Okla has also held roles as a Staff Writer for Thrillist, a Music & Culture Writer for Consequence of Sound, and an editorial contributor for the A3C Festival & Conference. Okla's earlier experience includes freelance work for ESSENCE Festival, content creation for HipHopDX, and leadership at Aye Life Media, LLC. Okla holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Hampton University.
