Yomna Elsayed

Yomna Elsayed, Ph.D has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Most recently, they served as the Head of Research at Credo AI. Prior to that, they worked at Twitter as a Responsible ML Experience Researcher, where they led foundational user research on algorithmic choice, transparency, fairness, and diversity. Yomna also held the position of ACLS Research Fellow in Digital Humanities at the University of Utah.

Before joining the University of Utah, Yomna worked at the University of Southern California as a Communication Lecturer specializing in Research Methods. During their time there, they also worked as a Researcher. Yomna gained experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Media Activism and Participatory Politics Project.

Yomna started their career as a Senior Software Engineer at ITWORX and later as a Senior Software Developer at CIT Global. Yomna also worked as a Software Design Engineer at Global Brands (Microsoft Arabic Development Team), where they developed software additions for the Arabic market and published whitepapers on localization.

Yomna also earned a Master's degree in Communication from the same institution. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science from The American University in Cairo and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, also in Computer Science, from the same institution. Yomna has also obtained additional certifications, including the ACLS Emerging Voices Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) in 2020 and completed the "Introduction to User Experience Principles and Processes" course on Coursera in the same year.
