Janice Houston-Holmes is an experienced educator with a robust background in teaching and math intervention. Currently serving as a Math Interventionist at Crescent City Schools since July 2017, Janice focuses on helping tier 2 and tier 3 students achieve grade-level proficiency. Previously, a math teacher at Lake Forest Charter since August 2012, Janice facilitates pre-algebra and geometry lessons for eighth graders. Janice's experience also includes teaching eighth-grade Math and Science at Martin Luther King Charter School from August 2008 to May 2012, and eighth-grade math and science lessons at Recovery School District between August 2006 and May 2008. Earlier in their career, Janice taught 5th-grade Language Arts and Math at Monroe City Schools during the 2005-2006 school year, and held various teaching positions for grades 3, 4, 6, and 8 under the Orleans Parish School Board from August 1989 to August 2005. Educational credentials include a Teacher Certification in Elementary Education from Southern University at New Orleans and a B.S. in Marketing and Management from Grambling State University.
