Dr. Diran L. Cowell

Dr. Diran L. Cowell serves as the District Level Behavior Specialist at Arlington Public Schools, where responsibilities include behavior analysis, consultation, and the development of intervention plans to promote equity and social-emotional learning. Previously, Dr. Cowell held roles as a Special Education Lead Teacher and Acting Alternative Program Administrator, collaborating with court officials to support at-risk students. Additionally, Dr. Cowell is a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Trainer at the Crisis Prevention Institute and has authored the book "Through the Walls: Without Any Doubting or Quiddit." A seasoned educator, Dr. Cowell's background includes special education teaching, coaching, and various roles in educational leadership, with degrees from multiple universities, culminating in a PhD in Advanced Educational Studies and Educational Leadership.
