Head of Collections and Payment Settlements at Critical Control

Vanessa Paris has held various accounting positions since 2011. In 2012, they began working as an Accounts Payable Analyst at Fortress Engineering, where they were responsible for coding and approvals, weekly cheque runs, contractor expense reports, corporate credit card reconciliations, and vendor and contractor set-up and maintenance. Vanessa also created a manual for this position. In 2014, they became a Staff Accountant/Field Analyst at GC Oilfield Management. In 2015, they were an Accounts Payable Analyst on a contract basis at Gibson Energy. From 2016 to 2019, they worked at Ridgeline Canada Inc. as an Accounting Administrator, where they were responsible for accounts payable, employee expenses, PO creation and maintenance, vendor and employee inquiries, vendor set up in QuickBooks, cheque runs, month end procedures, and relief reception duties. During this period, they also created a manual for this position and trained two employees for this role. In 2019, they began working at Cleantek Industries Inc. as an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Analyst, where they preformed collections and billings for 3 companies nationally, submitted invoices electronically on portals, completed customer and vendor set up and maintenance, completed bank deposits and payment applications, issued monthly customer statements, and vendor statement reconciliations. Currently, they are the Head of Collections and Payment Settlements at Critical Control Technologies.

Vanessa Paris obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting from Saint Mary's University between 1996 and 1999. Vanessa also holds three additional certifications: the National Collector Certificate from The Credit Institute of Canada (obtained in May 2021), Alberta Health & Safety Committees & Representatives (obtained in July 2018), and a Volunteer Health & Safety Orientation from the Calgary Food Bank.
