Job Title: OSP Locator
Classification: Non-exempt, Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY This position will be responsible for locating our underground assets. This position will also be required to serve in an on-call rotation with existing staff. This rotation is required to have work vehicle at home and work phone availability for night and weekend hours in case of emergency utility work near our underground plant.

• OSP Maintenance Supervisor

SUPERVISES
• No direct reports
• May lead, train, or participate in work team assignments

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Receive a locate ticket in ticket management system.

  2. Connect locating electronics to post to connect to our existing plant and walk the path to determine its exact location.

  3. Place paint and flags on top of the current plant.

  4. Take photos when completed.

  5. Upload photos to server and update ticket with time completed.

  6. Be aware of higher priority plant locations and be present to lower risk of hits as needed.

  7. Driving duties include conveying materials, equipment, and staff to and from work sites.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
• Adept in verbal and written communication
• Ability to evaluate situations and adjust to changing priorities
• Excellent attention to detail

QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other laptop/phone applications such as Outlook and/or Google Earth.
• Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute)
• Candidates which have the following will have priority:

  1. Experience using maps to determine precise locations

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• 40 hours per week, with rotating on-call duties
• Almost exclusively outside, year-round, in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to work overtime with and without notice.
• Must participate in On-Call Rotation
