Thomas Yurek

Thomas Yurek has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Thomas started their career in 2012 as a FRC Programming Mentor at McCutcheon High School. In 2013, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Rockwell Collins. Thomas then joined AMD as a Hardware Design Engineer Co-op in 2014, followed by an internship at Intel Corporation as a Design Automation Engineer in 2015. Thomas continued to gain experience in the industry by working as a Research Intern at ThunderCore in 2019. In 2021, Thomas had an internship at Facebook as a Software Engineering Intern, focusing on their PhD. Thomas then joined Meta in 2022 as a Research Scientist Intern. Currently, they are employed at Cubist as a Senior Cryptography Research Engineer since 2023.

Thomas Yurek obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, where they studied from 2012 to 2017. Thomas later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 2017 to 2022.
