Jeroen Greven

Jeroen Greven is provost of the Culinary Institute of America, overseeing all aspects of learning and development, including enrollment, academic affairs, student life, and campus operations. He brings more than two decades of global experience in higher education and education technology.

Greven began his academic journey as a lecturer at the esteemed Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS), later becoming dean of the SHMS Caux Campus in Montreux, Switzerland. During his tenure, SHMS became the first hospitality school in the world to be recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for its outstanding integration of technology to support transformative, student-centered learning.

Transitioning into an executive academic director role within the Swiss Education Group, Switzerland’s largest hospitality education provider, Greven led the SHMS and International Hotel and Tourism Training Institute brands. There, he introduced several innovative academic programs that increased student enrollment, enhanced student experience, and elevated education quality, positioning the school among the top five hospitality management institutions worldwide.

In 2021, following his appointment as managing director of the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management in Dubai, Greven commenced a strategic repositioning of the academy, significantly elevating its global reputation and bringing the Academy from top 100 to top 10 in the QS World University subject rankings in just two years.

Most recently, Greven headed up the Future Workforce Development function for the hotel division of NEOM, a futuristic megacity project in Saudi Arabia, integrating virtual reality and artificial intelligence with next generation digital learning platforms. These initiatives positioned NEOM at the forefront of educational innovation.

Originally from The Netherlands, Greven has lived in 10 countries and travelled to over 100, bringing extensive international experience. When not working, he enjoys sailing, travelling and exploring the scenic Hudson Valley in New York, where he has relocated with his family.
