Matt Taylor has a diverse work experience in various roles related to horticulture and research. Matt currently serves as the Director of Applied Science at Curio Wellness, where they provide strategic leadership for the company's cannabis cultivation research program, tissue culture lab, and genetics program. Prior to this, they worked at Longwood Gardens as the Director of Research and Conservation, overseeing various research and conservation initiatives in the Horticulture Department. Matt has also held positions such as Research Coordinator and Research Horticulturist at Longwood Gardens. Matt has a background in academia as well, having worked as a Post Doctoral Researcher at Weihenstephan University. Additionally, they have gained experience in greenhouse management and plant pathology research throughout their career.

Matt Taylor completed their education in the field of Horticultural Science, with a focus on Soil Science and Plant Pathology. Matt obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from North Carolina State University between 2004 and 2007. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree from the University of Florida, specializing in Horticultural Science and Soil and Water Science, from 2000 to 2002. Matt began their academic journey at Penn State University, where they completed their Bachelor's degree in Horticultural Science with a minor in Plant Pathology from 1995 to 1999.
