Sam Helferich has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles.

Starting in 2013, Sam worked at Butler University Center for Urban Ecology as a We Are City [SUMMIT] Assistant Project Manager and Center for Urban Ecology Marketing Intern. In this role, Sam managed logistics and promotion for a city-building conference and managed social media for the Center for Urban Ecology.

In 2014, Sam joined the Harrison Center for the Arts as a Marketing and Events Intern. Here, Sam assisted in managing the First Friday Art Tour, researched and executed marketing techniques, and worked with artists and sponsors to create a space for art in the Indianapolis community.

Following that, from 2014 to 2016, Sam served as a Corps Member and Multi-Disciplinary Teacher at Teach For America, where they taught in a low-income public school and participated in intensive training programs to improve student achievement.

In 2015, Sam became a CityCorps Fellow at Plan 2020, the Bicentennial Plan for Indianapolis. Here, they worked on developing ideas to improve the city in collaboration with community leaders.

After Teach For America, Sam joined WeWork as a Community Lead - Sales in 2016 and later became a Community Manager. They managed coworking space operations, member engagement, and team processes.

In 2019, Sam became the Director of People Operations at SocialWithin, where they built and managed HR systems and processes and handled HR aspects of the company's acquisition by Lamark Media.

From 2020 to 2021, Sam worked as a People Operations Manager at Literati, where they oversaw the employee experience and implemented HR programs and policies.

In 2021, Sam joined Cart.com as a People Systems Manager and later became a People Operations Manager. They contributed to the company's mission of democratizing eCommerce and implementing end-to-end eCommerce solutions.

In 2022, Sam worked at Midnight Consulting LLC as a People Operations & Systems Consultant, advising on and implementing people technology and processes at various companies.

Currently, Sam is working at Customer.io as a Sr. Manager of HR Data & Systems, where they are contributing to the mission of powering automated communication for internet businesses.

Throughout their career, Sam has demonstrated expertise in people operations, systems management, and implementing HR programs and policies. They have experience in managing teams, building and scaling operations, and supporting company growth and acquisitions.

Sam Helferich completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Arts Administration - Music from Butler University from 2010 to 2014. Following that, from 2014 to 2016, Sam pursued a Master of Arts degree in Education from Marian University Indianapolis. In addition to these degrees, Sam also attended Boğaziçi University from 2012 to 2013, studying Business Administration and Management, General, although no degree was specified for this period.
