Guy Duer

Guy Duer has a diverse work experience in data science and strategy consulting, with roles at Cybersyn, Brex, Airbnb, University of Pennsylvania, AECOM, and David Evans and Associates, Inc. At Brex, they were a Senior Data Scientist and led multiple teams to alignment on north-star metrics and team KRs, built said metrics in Airflow and Looker, and reported results to leadership on a monthly basis. At Airbnb, they were a Data Scientist on the Pricing team, where they built Airbnb's centralized dashboard for pricing metrics using Airflow and Superset and led analytics for Airbnb's Host Guidance and Price Competitiveness product tracks. Guy was also an Urban Data Researcher - Special Projects R&D at Airbnb, leading analytics for Airbnb's R&D division, owning product market sizing, revenue forecasting, and quantitative research. At the University of Pennsylvania, they were a Graduate Researcher and developed an XGBoost model for the City of Louisville, KY to identify built-environment factors and their interactions as predictors for automobile collision frequency. At AECOM, they were a Strategy Consultant, managing the development of AECOM's Strategic Asset Management (SAM) platform and partnering with major clients to develop long-term strategic plans based on analysis of alternative scenarios and future needs forecasting. At David Evans and Associates, Inc., they were an Assistant Urban Planner.

Guy Duer earned a Bachelor of Science in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 2012. In 2017, they went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Urban Spatial Analytics from the University of Pennsylvania.
