Stephen Lake

Stephen Lake has worked in the finance industry since 1980. Stephen began their career at Adelaide Bank as a Treasurer, where they were responsible for managing the Treasury department. In 1983, they joined Peter Wallman & Co as a Sales Trader and progressed to Partner, opening the London office. In 1985, they joined Barclays Corporate & Investment Bank as the Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets, where they established and built the Debt Capital Markets Division in Australia, Hong Kong and the APAC region. In 1996, they became the General Manager of Adelaide Bank and was responsible for restructuring operations and expanding operations for the wholesale bank. In 2001, they became the CEO & Managing Director of GBST. Since 2016, they have been the Founder and CEO of Benvell, developing efficient financing of decentralised solar products and providing affordable finance in emerging markets. Stephen is also a Board Director of Cygnetise Limited.

Stephen Lake attended the LEAP programme at INSEAD and the University of Adelaide.
