Katarina Beierlein

Katarina Beierlein has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Katarina is currently working at Cytiva as the Vice President Downstream R&D, Bioprocess. Prior to that, they worked at GE Healthcare, holding various roles such as Director Downstream Systems, Bioprocess R&D and Head of R&D, Purification & Analysis. Katarina also served as the Director Protein Analysis R&D and Director Protein Analysis Applications at GE Healthcare. Before joining GE Healthcare, Katarina Beierlein worked at Pharmnovo AB as a Board Director and at Semcon as a Business Manager Drug Development Consulting. Katarina began their career at Biovitrum, where they held positions such as Director Medicinal and Computational Chemistry, Project Leader, and Section Manager, Medicinal Chemistry. Prior to joining Biovitrum, they worked at Pharmacia as a Scientist Medicinal Chemistry.

Katarina Beierlein pursued their education at Uppsala University from 1987 to 1991, earning a BSc degree in Organic Chemistry. Later, they attended Stockholm University from 2008 to 2010 to complete an Executive MBA in Business Management.
