Rena Baktur

Lead Scientist at Cytiva

Rena Baktur has extensive work experience in the field of scientific research. Rena started their career at Utah State University as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they focused on studying the toxicity of Carbon Nanotubes on human lung and skin cells. Rena also worked as a Teaching Assistant during this time. Rena then moved on to Thermo Fisher Scientific, where they served as an Associate Scientist, conducting research from 2012 to 2014. Following this, they joined GE Healthcare, first as an Associate Scientist and then as a Scientist 1 and Lead Scientist, from 2014 to 2020. Currently, Rena is employed at Cytiva as a Lead Scientist, a role they started in April 2020.

Rena Baktur earned a Master's degree in Biological Engineering/ Tissue Engineering from Utah State University, where they studied from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biological Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Rena also holds several additional certifications, including courses related to bioinformatics and statistical analysis.
