D2X is looking for a Platform Engineering Intern to join its office in Amsterdam!

Are you goal-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong passion for the digital assets industry? Then keep reading!

What we do

D2X is a regulated crypto derivatives exchange for institutions, based in the Netherlands. In 2024, D2X became the first entity in the EU to receive a MIFID II MTF licence authorising it to list regulated crypto futures and options. With institutional demand for digital assets on the rise, our exchange fills a crucial gap by offering institutions a regulated trading platform open 7-days-a-week. Our mission is to facilitate seamless adoption of crypto derivatives by financial institutions.

An internship at D2X is the ideal opportunity to learn more about crypto and financial markets, develop your professional skills, and start building up your own professional network. Join us to build together The Secure Gateway to Digital Assets!

Technology at D2X

Digital assets trade round-the-clock, 365 days a year. Therefore, we are constantly seeking the most advanced technology to offer a fast and reliable trading interface. Rust allows us to achieve that in a productive way. Developing, testing and optimizing our codebase is the bread and butter of our Engineers.

As an intern in our Platform Engineering Team, you will actively contribute to increasing the reliability, availability, and performance of our systems. You will work closely with senior engineers on projects of varying scale to implement Site Reliability Engineering best practices, automate processes, monitor system health, and contribute to the overall stability and scalability of our internal platforms.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to SRE Practices: Collaborate with the team to implement Site Reliability Engineering practices, including reliability, scalability, and performance improvements;

  • Extend Platform Services: assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of internal platforms, tools and services;

  • Observability: extend and improve monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address issues before they impact system reliability and performance;

  • Tooling, CI/CD: develop pipelines, scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, streamline processes, and improve efficiency. Our tools are generally written in Rust, Go and Python;

  • Networking & Security Infrastructure: contribute to the configuration and management tools of network devices.

What we are looking for

  • Currently pursuing or being a recent graduate of a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and containerization (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, Docker);

  • Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Rust, Go);

  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools;

  • Should be open to working on a variety of technologies and infrastructure engineering problems;

  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm, Nix);

  • Understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines;

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana);

  • Self-starter and independent learner excited to work as a part of a high-performing team;

  • Available for 40 hours/week.

What we offer

  • Competitive reimbursement of 1000 EUR (gross) per month;

  • A maximum of 27 days of annual leave based on full-time employment;

  • Hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices;

  • Energetic, collaborative, and fun work culture;

  • Dynamic, international, innovative, and respectful work environment – employees are at the core, we value every individual and encourage initiatives;

  • Learning experience in financial markets and digital assets;

  • Premium office space with rich amenities in Amsterdam;

  • The ability to work with and learn from coworkers who have years of experience within any field, from big tech to fintech;

  • The ability to gain large scopes of responsibility over real-world projects;

  • Hybrid working mode with 4 days a week at the office and 1 day a week from home.
