Uma Balasubramanian is a seasoned professional in regulatory chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) with extensive experience in biologics. Currently serving as Director and Global Project Lead at Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. since September 2017, Uma has previously held positions at Merck, including Associate Director and Senior Specialist, where significant contributions were made to the regulatory leadership of monoclonal antibody submissions in Japan. Uma's earlier roles in research biology focused on cancer vaccines and monoclonal antibodies, alongside process development and quality control in various biotech settings, including ImClone Systems and R. W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute. Uma holds a Master’s degree in Microbiology from South Dakota State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Madras.
