Alex Speed

Alex Speed is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in chemistry. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Dalhousie University since July 2015, Alex previously held the position of Assistant Professor at the same institution. Prior to this, Alex worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at Boston College from July 2012 to May 2015, focusing on reaction development and applications in Z selective cross metathesis. Notable contributions include synthesizing Disorazole C1 and developing methodologies involving molybdenum-based catalysts. Alex completed a PhD in Chemistry at Harvard University, working on the second-generation synthesis of peloruside A in the Evans group, and previously held a Research Assistant position at Dalhousie University, studying photochemistry and chiral controllers for the Diels-Alder reaction. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Dalhousie University.
