Ui/uk Designer

To support the next exciting stage of our growth, we’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our growing team. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with our design and product teams to produce quality enterprise solutions. You will be involved during the whole product lifecycle, from project research and scoping, to creating fully functioning HTML mock-ups using PHP, SASS and jQuery for feedback and testing and finally, following through to support the Development Team during the implementation & release phases.

Key Responsibilities

You will report into and work closely with our User Experience Lead to translate business and user requirements into a creative vision, executing mock-ups ready for the Development Team to implement and deliver to customers.

The role requires a deep level of consideration towards our customers and stakeholders as well as an ability to work with developers and product managers to find the balance between feasibility, speed-to-market, aesthetics and usability.

You will be involved in large scale web and mobile product development projects across both Australia, New Zealand, the US, UK and Asia that will help organisations orchestrate their resources to protect productivity, performance, safety and investment.

Other Responsibilities

Work together with the design team to implement our UX vision, while following our guiding design principles and championing them within the wider organisation

Collaborate with Product Mangers and SMEs to review and contribute to provided scope of works.

Gather insights and feedback from users (where possible) and/or those who work closely with users to informing into your design decisions

Develop fully functioning mock-ups using PHP, SASS and jQuery that clearly demonstrate your solution for our often-complex scopes, ensuring you have catered for all possible situations

Work closely with Product Managers and users (where possible) to review and refine your designs

The ability to work independently at times in a fast-paced environment ensuring to not lose sight of project deadlines and reaching out for feedback and assistance when necessary

Work with the design team to reflect upon and improve design processes to help move towards our UX vision together

Required Qualifications/certifications (if applicable)

• 7+ years’ experience in UX and/or UI design with a strong portfolio of work
• Demonstrable experience in creating user flows and user interface designs
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the hard work required to solve creative challenges preferred
• Proven experience working within a cross-team environment
• A grasp of user research and user testing
• Ability to synthesise feedback and input from key stakeholders and users
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present and sell design ideas to peers and clients
• Great time management and attention to detail
• Solid understanding of UX principles
• Experience working with Product Managers and Development Teams in an agile team
• Experience with web and mobile development
• Coding skills such as PHP, HTML, SASS and jQuery
• Previous BA experience preferred
