Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Jessica Talamas is a highly accomplished scientist with extensive experience in cancer research and education. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist and Research Operations Manager at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Talamas focuses on the pleiotropic roles of nuclear envelope proteins and their impact on cancer cell survival. Prior roles include Education Director at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where efforts were centered on integrating discovery-based education in cell and molecular biology into the Chinese public school system, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Penn Medicine, focusing on the role of nuclear pore proteins in developmental gene expression. Talamas began her career as a Doctoral Training/Research Associate at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, studying transmembrane proteins in nuclear pore biogenesis, and also worked as a Coordinator for Sequence Finishing at the Whitehead Institute - MIT Center for Genome Research. Talamas holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from UC San Diego and a B.A. in Biology from The Johns Hopkins University.
