Andrew Heaton

Andrew Heaton is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in data privacy and security. Currently serving as Lead Counsel and Global Data Privacy/Data Protection Officer at Danaher Corporation since February 2020, Andrew leads global privacy efforts across the organization and advises on information security legal matters. Prior to this role, Andrew worked at EY for nearly 26 years, culminating in the position of Global Lead Counsel for Data Privacy and Security, where significant achievements included establishing a global data protection framework, overseeing GDPR implementation, and enhancing incident response strategies. Andrew's earlier experience includes litigation practice at Davis Polk & Wardwell and a law clerkship with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, along with a foundational role as a news reporter and on-air host at WCBU-Peoria Public Radio. Andrew holds a JD with honors from the University of Chicago and a summa cum laude BA and BS in International Studies and Mass Communication from Bradley University.
