Edwin W Lai

Edwin W Lai, PhD, serves as the Senior Director, Intrapreneur and Business Acceleration Lead for the Science & Technology Innovation division at Danaher Corporation since November 2023, focusing on innovation strategies and internal collaborations. Prior to this role, Lai held multiple positions at Cepheid from May 2011 to November 2023, including Senior Director of Innovation Programs, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing innovation initiatives and chairing leadership meetings. Lai's extensive experience in oncology R&D includes roles as Director and Sr. Manager, where significant contributions to molecular diagnostics and product development were made. Previously, Lai conducted post-doctoral research at Stanford University and held research positions at the National Institutes of Health, among others. Lai earned a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Georgetown University and completed a Post-Doctoral fellowship at Stanford University.
