Bastiaan Schouten

Bastiaan Schouten is an experienced professional in the field of nutritional science and medical affairs with a tenure at Danone Nutricia Research since 2005. Currently serving as the Head of Medical Affairs and Nutritional Science for Regional Brands and Young Child Formula, Bastiaan has played pivotal roles in governance transformation, fermentation innovation, and biotechnological discovery. Responsibilities include leading teams to advance specialized nutrition products, managing cross-functional projects for innovation, and directing preclinical and clinical research focused on immunity in early life nutrition. Previous roles at Utrecht University include earning a PhD in pharmacology and pathophysiology, while earlier experience includes a leadership position at Ichthus Wageningen. Bastiaan holds an MSc in Biology from Wageningen University & Research.
