Waleed Shaikh

Waleed Shaikh has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. In 2014, they interned as a Finance and Research Intern at the State Bank of Pakistan. Waleed then worked as a Corporate Intern at Lotte Chemical in 2015. In 2017, they joined HBL - Habib Bank Limited and worked their way up from Management Trainee to Assistant Product Manager and eventually to Product Manager. During their time at HBL, they focused on portfolio management, product scoping, solution designing, and process optimizations. Waleed also collaborated with credit risk experts and data analytics to develop digital and alternative credit scoring models. In 2020, Waleed joined Daraz as a Regional Product Owner, where they led the strategy, roadmap, and tech of the complete Daraz App & Web buyer journey. Waleed also launched new business lines and executed promotional campaigns to achieve significant growth in user engagement. In 2021, they joined Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited as an Executive Manager, where they built the product roadmap for digitizing lending and payments processes. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Strategic Initiatives & Projects at Daraz Financial Services.

Waleed Shaikh obtained their GCE A Level in Commerce from Southshore College, where they studied from 2009 to 2011. Later, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Supply Chain from the Institute of Business Administration, graduating in 2016.
