Juan Sequeda

Juan Sequeda is an accomplished computer scientist with extensive experience in the data catalog and AI fields. Currently serving as the Head of AI Lab at data.world since June 2019, Sequeda plays a pivotal role in advancing the company's innovative solutions for the data catalog industry. Prior to this, Sequeda co-founded Capsenta, where Juan served as the Senior Vice President of Technical Sales and Research, focusing on the commercialization of Ultrawrap, a system that virtualizes relational databases as Semantic Web data sources. Their research background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in Semantic Web and Ontologies, as well as roles as a researcher at both the University of Texas at Austin and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Sequeda's earlier career includes founding a web development consulting company and providing significant contributions as Chief Engineer and Project Director at Smartbridge GmbH.
