Customer Success Manager, Dod at Dataminr

Andrew Salonen has a diverse and extensive work experience. Andrew currently works at Dataminr as a Customer Success Manager for the Department of Defense, where they lead a team in driving product adoption and usage. Andrew'sresponsibilities include conducting training sessions, providing feedback reports, and improving customer experience.

Prior to this, Andrew worked at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School as a Lead Instructor. Andrew led a team in training and developing special operations candidates and also played a role in curriculum adaptation and implementation. Andrew built and maintained relationships with various federal, state, and local agencies.

Later, Andrew briefly worked as an Alumni at The Honor Foundation, a transition institute for Navy SEALs and the U.S. Special Operations community.

Before transitioning out of the military, Andrew served in the Naval Special Warfare - U.S. Navy SEAL Teams. Andrew held various roles such as Team Leader for Special Reconnaissance Team ONE and Special Boat Team TWELVE, Program Manager for Special Boat Team TWELVE, and Lead Navigator for Special Boat Team TWELVE. Andrew also trained at the Naval Special Warfare Boat Operator School.

Earlier in their career, Andrew served in the US Navy as a Marine Mammal Handler for Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit ONE & THREE and as a Search & Rescue Swimmer on the USS Tarawa.

Andrew Salonen completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Homeland Security from Excelsior University in the years 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies from the University of Phoenix between 2002 and 2004. In addition to their academic qualifications, Andrew also holds two certifications - Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute which they obtained in January 2022, and Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from the Scrum Alliance which they obtained in November 2021.
