Tyler Lewis has a diverse work experience in various leadership and advisory roles. Tyler is currently the Vice President of the US Department of Defense at Dataminr, a position they have held since April 2020. Prior to this, they were the Editorial Advisory Panel at Wild Blue Yonder Digital Journal from April 2020 to April 2021.

From August 2019 to April 2020, Tyler worked at MITRE, where they served as the Director of Strategic Development for the Center for Technology & National Security and also managed the Military Fellowship Program.

Before their time at MITRE, Tyler worked at the Secretary of the Air Force from August 2017 to August 2019 as the Military Assistant and Chief of Staff, where they advised and supported the Secretary of the Air Force in setting strategic priorities.

Starting from 2015, Tyler served in the 57th Adversary Tactics Support Squadron as the Commanding Officer and Chief Executive, leading integration of various air operations and overseeing workforce management, training, and operations.

Tyler began their career in the United States Air Force in 2000, where they held multiple roles, including F-16 Pilot, Instructor, Compliance Manager, and Front Line Supervisor. During this time, they were responsible for instructing and evaluating F-16 pilots, planning and leading formations, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Tyler also had notable experiences working as the Deputy Director for Operations and Deputy Chief Operating Officer at the Air Force Directorate of Operations in Central Command in 2014 and as a Speechwriter for the Chief Executive Officer at the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2010 to 2013.

Overall, Tyler Lewis has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and advisory capabilities throughout their career in various military and civilian roles.

Tyler Lewis attended Princeton University from 1994 to 1998, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Following that, from 2007 to 2009, they enrolled in Universidad de Chile and obtained a Masters in International Relations, specializing in the field of International Relations. In addition to their formal education, Tyler also obtained a Darden Executive Education & Lifelong Learning Certificate in Business Strategy from UVA Darden Executive Education & Lifelong Learning in August 2022.
