David Jones-Gilardi

David Jones-Gilardi has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. David is currently working at DataStax, starting in 2016. At DataStax, they have held the positions of Developer Experience Advocate, Developer Advocate, and Technical Evangelist. Prior to DataStax, David worked at Hobsons from 2007 to 2016, where they held roles such as Senior Development Manager, Development Manager, Technical Project Manager, and Senior Software Engineer. Before joining Hobsons, David worked at Northrop Grumman Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer from 2002 to 2007. David also worked at Ahold Information Services as the Owner of Gilardi Consulting from 2001 to 2002. Prior to that, David worked at Lockheed Martin as a Systems Integrator/Software Engineer from 1997 to 2001. David began their career at Alternative Resources Corporation as a Consultant from 1995 to 1997. Additionally, David worked at Aubry Office Systems as a Server, PC, and Printer Technician in 1995.

David Jones-Gilardi has pursued education in various fields throughout their career. David attended Santa Monica College, where they focused on Astronomy. Following that, they enrolled at DeVry University-Illinois and studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Later, they obtained certification as a Certified Oracle DBA for Oracle 8 from Oracle. Additionally, David pursued studies in Space-Based Radar at UCLA.

In terms of certifications, David has achieved the Apache Cassandra 3 Developer Associate Certification from DataStax in December 2020. Furthermore, they have certifications in Create a Language Understanding solution with Azure Cognitive Services and Process and Translate Speech with Azure Cognitive Speech Services from Microsoft. David also holds a certification for Oracle 8 DBA from Oracle, although further details regarding its acquisition are not available.
