Brian McDermott, RSM has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Brian was the Course Director / Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Davis Defense Group, Inc., where they directed courses and served as an instructor. Brian also founded Red Team Solutions & Training LLC, where they provided subject matter expertise and designed rigorous plans for clients in competitive business environments. Brian also held leadership positions in the United States Marine Corps, including as the Marine Corps University Red Team Director, where they developed the Red Team curriculum and provided instructional support to military education facilities. Brian also served as a CH-53E Helicopter Pilot and held various billets during their service.

Brian McDermott, RSM has a diverse education history. Brian holds a Red Team Leaders Course from the University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies (UFMCS) in 2013, where they studied alternative analysis and facilitation. In 2010 to 2011, they attended the USMC Command & Staff College and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Military Studies. Prior to that, from 1993 to 1996, McDermott studied History and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Brian also pursued aviation studies at the same university, obtaining a Commercial Pilot license and Airframe&Powerplant Mechanic Licenses in the period of 1990 to 1993. McDermott has also obtained additional certifications such as Registered Scrum Master, Registered Scrum Master™, Technology of Participation Strategic Planning Course, Certified Trainer Level I, Master Trainer, Technology of Participation Facilitation Methods Course, Senior Instructor, UFMCS Red Team Facilitator / Seminar Leader, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Commerical Pilot & Instrument Rated - Rotary Wing, Aircraft Mechanic Licence with Airframe & Powerplant ratings, and Commercial Pilot & Instrument Rated - Single Engine Fixed Wing.
