Akshai J. Patel

Akshai J. Patel has a long history of work experience in education. Akshai J. began their career in 2004 as a Corps Member for Teach for America. In 2007, they were awarded a Fulbright Grant to study and teach at la Universidad de Concepción in Southern Chile. That same year, they also began working as a Classroom Teacher for the Roosevelt School District. In 2007, they started working as a Faculty Associate for Arizona State University, where they taught Educational Assessment to students in the M. Ed program for Curriculum and Instruction, and an introductory class for freshman in the Public Service Academy. In 2009, they became the CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Phoenix Collegiate Academy, the first 'No Excuses' charter school in Arizona. In 2012, they founded and became a Board Member of DeansList Education Software. In 2018, they became the Chief Strategy and Outreach Officer for ASU Preparatory Academy. Akshai J. currently serves as Director of Municipal Finance (Education) at RBC Capital Markets.

Akshai J. Patel attended North Canyon High School. Akshai J. then went on to Arizona State University, where they obtained a BA in Economics, a BS in Political Science, and an M.ED in Curriculum and Instruction. Finally, they completed an MBA in Social Entreprenuership at Columbia Business School.
