Serena McDonnell

Serena McDonnell has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and companies. Serena started their career as an Undergraduate Research Student at McGill University in 2013, where they worked on a project related to evolutionary processes. Serena then interned at the National Bank of Canada in 2014 and 2015, where they developed a GUI for an algorithmic trading platform and conducted backtesting for the Teranet-National Bank House Price Index.

In 2016 and 2017, Serena worked as a Teaching Assistant at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where they developed tutorial materials and received positive reviews. Serena then joined Mercatus Technologies Inc. as a Data Scientist in 2018, focusing on machine learning in the grocery retail space.

Serena's work at Delphia, starting in 2019, involved building machine learning infrastructure for a hedge fund's equity strategy and engineering cross-sectional quantitative features. Serena also held multiple roles at aggregate intellect between 2019 and 2023, including being a Deep Random Talks Co-Host, a Steering Committee Member & Diversity and Inclusion Lead & Women in AI Organizer, and a Machine Learning Researcher.
