Akira Morita

Akira Morita has a diverse work experience in the insurance and finance sectors. From 2019 onwards, they have worked as the Head of Asia Business Development at Democrance, an insurance technology firm that offers a no-code SaaS insurance platform. Akira'srole involves helping Life and P&C insurers launch new digital products and distribution channels. Prior to this, they worked at BIMA, a leading insurance tech player, from 2016 to 2019. During their time at BIMA, they served as the Country Manager and later as the General Manager, operating in 15 developing countries and using mobile technology to disrupt the global insurance industry. In 2015, they worked as a Summer Associate at Impact Investment Exchange Asia (IIX), and from 2008 to 2014, they worked at Citi as an Associate in Corporate Banking, where they focused on cross-border banking and financing deals in emerging markets.

Akira Morita has a diverse education history. In 2002, they enrolled at The University of Tokyo, where they studied Life Science, specializing in Neuroscience, and earned their Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in 2006. Akira then pursued further studies at The University of Tokyo, where they obtained a Master of Public Policy degree in 2008, focusing on Economic Policy.
