Liheng Zhong

Liheng Zhong is an experienced Applied Scientist at Descartes Labs, specializing in the analysis of remotely sensed images, weather data, and various spatial datasets to enhance business performance and decision-making. With a focus on artificial intelligence research for land cover classification and agricultural applications, Liheng utilizes high-resolution imagery from sources such as NAIP, Planet, and Airbus. Prior to this role, Liheng served as an Environmental Scientist with the California Department of Water Resources, leading quantitative modeling projects to evaluate water right policies and managing research initiatives related to crop evapotranspiration and water demand forecasting. Liheng's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Environment Science, Policy and Management from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Spatial Information from Peking University.
