Mi Wang, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in strategy and operations. Mi started their career in 2008 as a Doctoral Research Fellow at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. In 2011, they took on an Intern role in Investor Relations at The Trout Group. In 2013, they became a Project Leader at The Boston Consulting Group. In 2016, they joined the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as Deputy Director of New Product Planning, responsible for pipeline strategy, launch planning, and life cycle management for late-stage assets, while also managing a team of 4. Mi then became Deputy Director of Strategy Planning and Management, leading portfolio strategy, operations, and special projects for an R&D program with >$400M in annual budget. In 2022, they were appointed as Vice President of Strategy and Operations at Design Therapeutics.
Mi Wang, Ph.D. began their educational journey in 2002 when they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wuhan University. Mi then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2008. From 2011 to 2012, they participated in the International Fellows Program at Columbia | SIPA. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology and Molecular Signaling from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2013.
