Tom Petrillo has a diverse range of work experience. Tom began their career as a Computer Engineer for the State of Oregon in 2000. Tom then worked as a Computer Consultant for the Help Desk at Brown University from 2002 to 2005. Tom later joined UC San Diego as a Teaching Assistant, where they taught various mathematics courses and also worked as a Research Assistant, developing software for Professor Bill Helton's research group.

In 2010, Tom became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Toledo, where they taught courses and presented their research. Tom also served as a Summer Camp Instructor at the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University in 2011.

Tom moved into the finance industry in 2012, joining Tower Research Capital as a Quantitative Developer and later as a Quantitative Analyst. In these roles, they conducted signal research and implemented matching rules for trading.

In 2015, Tom worked as a Senior Researcher and Developer at lolspots.com, where they wrote software for various company initiatives. Tom then joined sensemetrics in 2017 as a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for writing software with full-stack responsibilities.

In 2018, Tom transitioned to Facebook, working as a Data Engineer. In this role, they handled data engineering tasks for the company. Tom most recently joined Dexterity Capital in 2019 as a Portfolio Manager, where they manage investment portfolios.

Throughout their career, Tom has gained experience in various industries, including finance, technology, education, and research. Tom has a strong background in software development, mathematics, and quantitative analysis.

Tom Petrillo has a Bachelor of Science (Sc.B.) degree in Mathematics-Computer Science from Brown University. Tom also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mathematics from UC San Diego.
