Melissa Kindall Apr

Melissa Kindall, APR has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Melissa started their career in 1990 as a Special Events Manager at Lucayan Beach Resort & Casino, where they planned and executed VIP events and handled guest arrangements. Melissa then worked as a Special Project Manager at Miami Subs Pizza and Grill from 1994 to 1996, overseeing trade area surveys and making recommendations to senior management. From 1997 to 2000, Melissa worked as a Franchise Sales Specialist at Central PA Subway Development Corp, achieving success in converting leads into franchise sales. Melissa also had an entrepreneurial experience as the Owner of Subway and The Olde Cafe from 2000 to 2006.

Since 2008, Melissa has been associated with Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, where they have held various roles. As a Communications Associate from 2008 to 2013, they provided professional-level support for communication and advertising. Melissa then became the Manager of Social Media & Digital Communications, managing and training various social media accounts and writing for the organization's blog. From 2021, they took on the role of Director of Corporate Communications, responsible for corporate identity, brand management, and strategic planning for communications and public relations. In May 2023, Melissa will transition into the role of Senior Director, Corporate Communications & Marketing at Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries.

Melissa Kindall, APR, has a diverse education background spanning various levels of study. Melissa graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Corporate Communications. Prior to that, they attended Broward College from 1992 to 1994, where they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Melissa recently pursued further education and is currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Strategic Leadership at Elizabethtown College, which is expected to be completed in 2024.

In addition to their academic achievements, Melissa has also obtained certification in Public Relations (PR) through the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in September 2020.
