Alberto Leonardi is a highly experienced academic with a robust background in civil engineering and materials science. Currently serving as a Lecturer and Research Associate at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg since March 2017 and as a Beamline Scientist at Diamond Light Source since October 2022, Alberto has also held research associate positions at Indiana University Bloomington since January 2015 and as a Scientist at STFC - Rutherford Appleton Laboratory from December 2020 to November 2022. Prior academic roles include Professorships focused on Solid Mechanics and Civil Design at various institutions, including Istituto di Istruzione Superiore "L. Guetti" and Istituto Tecnico Economico e Tecnologico "G. Floriani." Alberto earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Trento, complemented by a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture from the same institution and a Master's in Construction Technologies from the University of Padova.
