Rob Ramirez

Rob Ramirez has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rob began their career as an Internet Operations Engineer at Ask Jeeves, where they served as the Lead Engineer for Internet Operations for various consumer properties. Rob then moved on to CNET Networks, where they worked as a Senior Software Operations Engineer, responsible for the operations of flagship CNET sites.

In 2008, Rob joined Yahoo! as a Sr. Service Engineer, where they managed the configurations of core mail services and played a key role in implementing Chef for defining and updating the environment via code. Rob also developed automation tools using Hudson pipelines, Virtualbox, and Vagrant.

In 2015, Rob joined Workday as a Sr. Infrastructure Services Engineer, where they contributed to the design of a pluggable tool API framework and developed a method for deploying Openstack clusters. Rob later became a Sr. DevOps Engineer in the Workday Private Cloud (WPC) team, leading the deployment of next-generation Openstack/Contrail architecture using Chef and custom python scripts.

Currently, Rob is employed at Dictionary.com as a Senior DevOps Engineer. In this role, they are involved in revamping their AWS IAM implementation and setting up sandbox development environments for safer feature testing.

Rob has also contributed to the improvement of processes, including onboarding documentation development and refactoring firewall rulesets.
