Avesta Hojjati

Avesta Hojjati, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience. Avesta is currently working as the Vice President of Engineering at DigiCert, Inc., where they oversee the growth of the research and development organization. Avesta also leads various areas such as new product development, research and development, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Research & Development at DigiCert, where they focused on innovation in areas such as Post Quantum Cryptography and artificial intelligence. Avesta has also worked as a Sr Director of Product Management, leading the migration of platforms and launching a proprietary vulnerability assessment product. Avesta has published numerous blog posts on key topics in the field. Outside of DigiCert, Avesta has served as the Chair of the Technical Working Group at ID4me AISBL, promoting a federated approach to Single Sign-On and Digital Identity Management. Avesta has also been an Advisory Board Member at Rutgers University Continuing Education and a member of the Technical Governance Board at the Sovrin Foundation. Avesta's earlier experiences include working as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Visiting Researcher at the University of Michigan. Avesta has also held positions at Phalanx Investment Properties LLC, Symantec, Yahoo, and Texas Tech University. Avesta Hojjati, Ph.D. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the same university. They completed their undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, Avesta Hojjati has obtained a Linux Certification from edX in 2015 and a certification in NAL from Stanford University in October 2010.
