Prashant Rao

Prashant Rao has over 13 years of professional experience in research and development. Prashant began their career in 2006 as a Research Assistant at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. In 2010, they became a Graduate Assistant at the Rehabilitation and Neuro-Muscular Robotics Lab at the University of Maine. From 2011 to 2018, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin, where they developed low jitter hard-realtime frameworks for multi-body robotic control systems, integrated EMG sensors and various multi-axis force sensors, and wrote frameworks for integration of devices running on CANbus/CANOpen and EtherCAT protocols. Since 2018, they have been the Lead of Robotic Design at Diligent Robotics.

Prashant Rao received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2018. Prior to that, they earned their PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine in 2011. Prashant also obtained an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2008.
