POSITION OVERVIEW:

Disc Medicine is searching for an Associate Director, Medical Affairs Operations that will be a strategic advisor delivering support for Medical Affairs key initiatives. This role will establish and/or maintain processes and systems to ensure project tracking and reporting. The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Operations will work cross-functionally to ensure quality and timely outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with appropriate leadership to evaluate and define operations support required to track, manage, and report Medical Affairs activities, including KOL engagement and patient advocacy support
  • Provide operational oversight of scientific congress logistics and planning, Medical Affairs budget tracking and reporting, and vendor and contract management
  • Mange scientific communication trackers for timely preparation, submission, and presentation of publications (i.e., abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and manuscripts)
  • Support global KOL and patient advocacy engagement (e.g., meetings at conferences, advisory board meetings)
  • Coordinate internal and external document reviews, approvals, communications and other activities related to publication review and submissions
  • Serve as Medical Review Board (MRB) and Promotional Review Board (PRB) coordinator including scheduling and facilitating leading MRB and PRB meetings, developing and tracking material review timelines and expirations
  • Maintain oversight for Medical Affairs databases and organization of documents for audits including: contracts, budgets, grants, sponsorships, donations, Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs), and medical field materials and trainings in appropriate system platforms (e.g., Veeva, SharePoint), and other departmental reports repository
  • Participate in internal and joint vendor meetings with oversight for organization, planning and logistics

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience working in industry in Medical Affairs Operations
  • Proven track record of driving and organizing projects
  • Ability to organize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with a variety of internal / external stakeholders and across senior management
  • Must be intellectually curious, professional, and adaptable
  • Attention to detail and proper use of tools for information processing and electronic systems
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Experience with project management systems
  • Ability to travel as needed
