Nelson Y. Akkutlu

Nelson Y. Akkutlu, MBA, MSIS, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in analytics and business intelligence across various financial institutions. Currently serving as Director of Analytics & Credit Business Intelligence at Discover Financial Services since May 2022, Nelson previously held multiple strategic roles at USAA, including Director of Business Strategy Analytics and Director of Business Intelligence Analytics from August 2016 to May 2022. Prior to USAA, Nelson worked at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, where responsibilities included leading analytic and IT teams to enhance loan servicing operations. Nelson's career began at Global Reach Internet Productions as a Business/Project Manager and as a Systems Analyst at Iowa State University. Nelson holds an MS in Information Systems and an MBA in Information Systems from Iowa State University, along with a BS in Chemistry from Ankara University.
