Zakiya Hazel-Jemmott

Zakiya Hazel-Jemmott currently serves as the Director of Communications at the District of Columbia Board of Elections, a position held since March 2024. Prior to this role, Zakiya was a Social Media Specialist at the Association of Public Health Laboratories from April 2022 to April 2024, and a Communications Strategist for District of Columbia Public Schools from June 2020 to April 2022. Zakiya also has experience as a Social Media Manager for the American Cancer Society and has held positions at Jamaica Hospital and SCOUT Marketing, focusing on public relations and social media engagement. Zakiya holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Bethune-Cookman University, earned between 2010 and 2013.
