Melanie Chen, SPHR, SHRM-CP, has extensive work experience in various HR roles. Melanie currently works at Divert as the Manager of People Operations. Prior to this, they worked at ChowNow where they served as a Business Partner to HR, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Logistics. Melanie was responsible for handling employment-related inquiries, employee relations, leadership support, and compensation analysis. Melanie also coached new managers and developed an internship program for underserved communities. Before ChowNow, Melanie worked at isolved as a Human Resources Business Partner, where they managed the onboarding and offboarding process for multiple companies and handled employee relations and benefits inquiries. Melanie also has experience as a Human Resources Administrative Assistant at UnityPoint Health, where they managed onboarding, resolved conflicts, and created communication materials. Melanie has also worked as a Contracted Recruiter at 10 Corp, where they sourced talent and conducted interviews, and as a Benefits and Payroll Administrator at ADP, where they managed payroll and benefits for multiple companies. Melanie began their career as an Administrative Assistant at NY Otolaryngology PLLC.

Melanie Chen, SPHR, SHRM-CP, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, General from Stony Brook University, where they studied from 2008 to 2013. In addition to their undergraduate education, they have pursued several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Melanie obtained a Human Resource Diploma from Alison - Online Learning in May 2019 and a Social Media Certification from HubSpot Academy in April 2019. Melanie acquired the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from HRCI in June 2020, followed by the SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in May 2020.
