Estelle DeBlois

Director, Engineering at DockYard

Estelle DeBlois is currently the Director of Engineering at DockYard. Prior to that, they were a Principal Software Engineer at Affinnova from September 2011 to July 2014. While at Affinnova, they led a team of developers and statisticians in an effort to streamline and automate the post-fielding data analysis and delivery of results to clients. Estelle also trained the Analytics team on development practices, process, and tools. In addition, they led the development work as part of a larger initiative to bring web-based reporting to Affinnova Studio.

DeBlois has extensive experience with various technologies including Groovy, Grails, MS SQL Server, Ember, Handlebars, and LESS. Estelle is also familiar with Dev/Build Tools such as IntelliJ, Jenkins, Git, and Grunt. Furthermore, they have experience working in different environments such as Windows and Tomcat.

Some of their accomplishments include successfully leading a team of developers and statisticians to streamline and automate the post-fielding data analysis and delivery of results to clients. In addition, they designed a reporting framework that was robust enough to support the numerous types of deliverables offered by Affinnova. Lastly, they introduced a better testing harness for Ember utilizing Mocha, Sinon, Testem, custom helpers, and data mocking facilities.

Estelle DeBlois has a B.A. in Computer Science from Mount Holyoke College, where they graduated Magna Cum Laude. Estelle also has certification from Oracle as an Oracle Certified Professional in Java EE 5 Web Component Developer, and certification from Sun Microsystems as a Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform, Standard Edition 6.

Estelle DeBlois works with Sarah Woods - Chief People Officer, Clement Boyd - Senior Project Manager, and Ben Munson - Director of Design. Their manager is Brian Cardarella, CEO & Founder. Some individuals on their team include Tiago Davi - Engineer, Rockwell Schrock - Engineer, and John Leja - Engineer.
