Helena Kernell has worked in the sustainability field since 2007. Helena began their career as a Financial Auditor at KPMG Sweden in 2007, before moving to KPMG Luxembourg in 2008 as a Financial Auditor in the Real Estate group. In 2009, they returned to KPMG Sweden as a Sustainability Auditor for Sustainability Reporting and Assurance. In 2013, they moved to KPMG Switzerland as a Sustainability Advisor for Climate Change & Sustainability Services, where they developed sustainability services for the Swiss market. In 2016, they joined GES International AB as a Responsible Investment Advisor, where they were a Client Manager for asset owners and asset managers. In 2017, they moved to Folksam as a Senior ESG Analyst for Asset Management, where they were responsible for integrating sustainability aspects into the Folksam Group's asset management. In 2020, they joined SEB as a Sustainable Finance Specialist in Debt Capital Markets, where they advised issuers on green, social, sustainability, and sustainability linked bonds. Helena also joined Doconomy as Chief Impact Officer, Head of Impact, and Impact Lead.

Helena Kernell obtained an International Master's degree in Business & Economics from Uppsala University between 2002 and 2007. Her field of study included Accounting, Performance Management, and a language specialization in German.
