Eduardo Zavala Pulgar has extensive work experience in the field of food and fermentation technology. Eduardo is currently the CEO and Co-founder of Done Properly, a foodtech company that focuses on creating high-value food ingredients using fermentation technologies and circular economy principles. Prior to this, Eduardo was the Scientific Director and Founder of Tribus Fungi, where they developed healthy foods using edible mushrooms and local raw materials. Eduardo was also an Independent Consultant, specializing in the development of R&D strategies for both public and private organizations in Chile. In addition, Eduardo served as the Executive Director of Patagonia LabSpace, a scientific entrepreneurship center in Puerto Montt, Chile. Eduardo also worked as a research assistant and candidate for Master's thesis at the University of Santiago de Chile, where they conducted molecular genetic studies on various marine species.
Eduardo Zavala Pulgar completed their undergraduate education from 2009 to 2014 at Universidad Andres Bello, where they attained a degree in Biotecnologia, specifically specializing in the field of Ciencia del genoma/Genómica. In 2018, Eduardo pursued further education at Universidad Nacional de San Martín, where they focused on Emprendedorismo y creación de empresas biotecnológicas (Entrepreneurship) for a brief period.
