Kirk Miller is the current CEO at DragonFly Athletics, a position they have held since 2009. Prior to that, they were the Director of Information Systems at The University of Alabama from 1999-2009. In their role at DragonFly, Kirk is responsible for primary strategic decisions for the business platforms operated in Athletics, their interface with established campus wide resources and the central technology department for UA as a whole, resource acquisition and planning, as well as management of the terrific team who provided day to day technical support. Additionally, they support our coaching staff with advice and direction on emerging technologies.
During their time at The University of Alabama, Kirk directed the development of systems to manage student athlete data such as a Study Hall management system which tracked study hall participation and provided reporting to coached. One of the largest systems they engineered was the Squad Management system to report participation information to the South Eastern Conference Office. This system was adopted by all schools of the SEC.
Kirk Miller is a proven leader in the field of information technology and has been instrumental in developing systems that have streamlined the process of tracking data for student athletes. Kirk is a valuable asset to any organization and is committed to their work and to those they work with.
Kirk Miller has a certificate in public health from The University of Alabama, as well as an MBA in management information systems. Kirk also has a master's in mechanical engineering from the same school, with a focus on automation and control systems. Additionally, they have a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and minors in computer science and mathematics from The University of Alabama. Kirk is also certified by the Federal Aviation Administration as a private aircraft pilot.
