Timothy Klotz, PE, is an experienced professional engineer with a strong background in transportation and environmental projects. Timothy has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.
Starting in 2022, Klotz is currently serving as a Senior Project Engineer at DRMP, Inc., where they lead a small team in the roadway design group. Their primary clients are the NCDOT and SCDOT.
Prior to their current position, Klotz worked at AECOM from 2019 to 2022. In this role, they served as a Senior Transportation Engineer and Project Manager in the roadway design group. Timothy supervised a small team and focused on delivering projects for NCDOT.
From 2018 to 2019, Klotz worked at CALYX Engineers + Consultants as a Transportation Project Engineer.
Between 2015 and 2018, Klotz was employed at AECOM as a Roadway Engineering Associate. Timothy was involved in the roadway design group and contributed to projects like the Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit in Chapel Hill and Durham, North Carolina.
Before transitioning into the transportation field, Klotz worked at Hart & Hickman, PC from 2008 to 2015. Klotz also gained experience at Piedmont Geologic from 2008 to 2008, where they worked as a Staff Scientist overseeing groundwater remediation and monitoring projects. Timothy conducted emergency installations and maintained soil and groundwater remediation systems.
In their earlier career, from 2006 to 2008, Klotz worked at Gannett Fleming as an Environmental Scientist. Timothy conducted assessments and monitoring activities at commercial gasoline station sites.
In 2005, Klotz held the position of Engineering Technician at Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. and Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. Timothy oversaw construction contractors and performed various field and laboratory soil tests.

Timothy Klotz, PE holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Systems from North Carolina State University. Timothy completed this program from 2009 to 2017. Prior to their Master's degree, Timothy obtained a Bachelor of Science in Geoenvironmental Studies from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2005. Additionally, Timothy has been certified as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors in February 2018.
