Katherine Wong-Velasco

Katherine Wong-Velasco, MBA, SHRM-SCP has over a decade of experience in various human resources roles. Katherine most recently worked at Mast Reforestation as the Director of Talent, overseeing talent acquisition and talent management. Prior to that, Katherine served as the Group Human Resources & Administration Director at Kung Fu Tea USA, Inc., where they led HR operations for multiple locations and built strong relationships with managers and staff. Katherine took a career sabbatical from 2015 to 2019, during which they studied for their SHRM-SCP certification and volunteered for various causes. Before their sabbatical, Katherine worked at AIRINC as the Global Compensation & Benefits – Asia Client Solutions Manager, advising clients on HR policies and expanding the company's client base in the APAC region. Katherine also gained valuable experience at IKEA as a Recruitment Manager for the Greater China Region, where they oversaw staffing efforts and developed recruitment practices. Katherine's earlier experience includes roles at Omnicorp Limited and Salzer Consulting. Katherine holds an MBA degree and is certified as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional.

Katherine Wong-Velasco holds a Master's degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. In addition, they have obtained certifications such as "The Future of Workplace Learning" and "Uncovering Unconscious Bias in Recruiting and Interviewing" from LinkedIn. Katherine is also a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), certified by SHRM in March 2020. Katherine has additional certifications as a Counselor and Global Mobility Specialist (GMS), and they hold another SHRM-SCP certification.
