Steven Englehardt started their work experience in 2009 as a Laboratory Assistant at the Light and Life Laboratory in Stevens Institute of Technology. Steven then worked as a Research Assistant at the Light and Life Laboratory from 2010 to 2012, where they developed a new method of surface estimation. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Research Programmer at the Center for Decision Technologies, collecting and analyzing large data sets from major websites. Starting in 2013, they became a Doctoral Student in Computer Science at Princeton University and completed their studies in 2018. Steven then joined Mozilla as a Senior Privacy Engineer from 2018 to 2021. Currently, they work as the Lead Privacy Engineer at DuckDuckGo, starting in 2021.

Steven Englehardt earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Applied Physics and Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology. Steven later went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from Princeton University, completing their studies between 2013 and 2018.
